What is the KyBo DRBR Wastewater Treatment Plant? (Patent Pending)

The KyBo Dynamic Rotational Bio Reactor (DRBR) is a Fibreglass Pre Moulded onsite waterborne non sewered sanitation system (NSSS), consisting of one or more modules capable of treating waste water (Grey and Black water) from a variety of industries including domestic waste water.

The versatility of the KyBo DRBR technology is well suited as a stand alone unit or for upgrading and retro-fitting, not only to existing septic tanks, but to a large variety of existing under performing wastewater treatment plants as well.Advantages
  • Dynamic Rotational Bio Reactor (Patent Pending)
  • Simplistic continuous free flowing self cleaning and non-clogging design. (Patent Pending)
  • Patented Bio-Media carrier (ACIM)A light weight microscopically porous carbon impregnated carrier requiring minimal energy for the rotational fluidization there of.
  • Very low, electrical consumption from less than 50 watts per hour.
  • Very low sludge buildup
  • Manufactured from light weight, strong, durable, non-corrosive fiberglass
  • Installation can be above, below or in-ground
  • Versatile – can be supplied as a complete stand-alone sewage treatment plant, or as a retro fit to an existing septic tank or problem waste water treatment plants.
  • Simple, quick and easy installation can be installed and operating the same day.
  • Treated effluent exceeds Department of Water, Fisheries and Forestry’s general standards for treated waste water effluent.
  • 100% of all treated black and grey water is recyclable.

Benefits
  • Low energy consumption, ideal for off grid installations
  • Reduced sludge production/sludge removal extended to 3-5 years
  • Smaller carbon footprint
  • 25 – 30 year life expectancy
  • 50 – 400% higher performance compared to any other conventional technology
  • Remarkable process stability against shock loads
  • Faster process, start up and recovery time
  • Shorter retention time/ smaller area required
  • Extended servicing intervals
  • Reduced maintenance
  • Improved clarifier performance
  • Delivers lowest possible BOD/COD/TSS & TN making post treatment more economical and sustainable for re use and recycle applications.
  • Better results achieved under all operating conditions.

How does the Kybo DRBR Wastewater Treatment work?

A Multi-stage Process consisting of a primary settlement tank combined with an anaerobic baffled reactor and phosphate removal.

The second phase tank combines the baffled contactor with an anoxic and pretreatment zone, before entering a balancing tank which controls the flow of the wastewater into the DRBR tank where the micro-organisms attach to the moving media and consume unwanted waste.

Once processed through the wastewater the effluent proceeds through the final settlement process before entering the final sterilization phase.

The DRBR Wastewater treatment process consists of a reactor or tank filled with water and thousands of small poly elastomeric urethane rectangular blocks commonly known as the media.   This media looks like small foam blocks (must not be confused with foam/sponge blocks) which have a density similar to water and have a high fine inner porosity providing the perfect surface for waste-consuming micro-organisms to thrive, thereby creating a bio-colony that provides the perfect environment for removing waste in water.

This patented Bio media are light weight (65 – 85 kg/m3) allowing them to suspend and circulate evenly throughout the water with the aid of micro air bubbles fed from a fine bubble diffuser located at the base of the reactor, below a stainless steel sieve which retains the media within the Bio-reactor tank.

This fine bubble aeration assist the media to remain active throughout the wastewater ensuring they come in contact with all the waste in the water.

As the bio media pieces circulate through the wastewater inside the bio-reactor, the micro-organisms living on the media consume the waste in the water thereby cleaning the water.

What is DRBR Wastewater Treatment?

The dynamic rotational bed bio reactor (DRBR) is a natural Biological wastewater treatment process, meaning it is a completely natural process that uses bio growth attached to a moving media in the bio-reactor. Micro-organisms attached to moving media in the wastewater and consume unwanted waste thereby cleaning the water.

The DRBR technology offers many significant benefits which provide a safe and environmentally sustainable means of removing organic substances from the wastewater, measured in terms of bio-chemical oxygen demand (BOD; COD. At the same time achieving a complete nitrification denitrification cycle.

The DRBR can function as a stand-alone process, but often forms part of a more comprehensive wastewater treatment plant, as is the case with the GUESS (Green Ultimate Eco Sewage System).
